For buyers that want an affordable option for a Smart TV, the Samsung UE32J4510 has a lot to offer. It’s an HD Ready model that has a great selection of Smart and standard features, and even though it is not Full HD, the picture quality is still pretty good. This model is easy to use, efficient and it offers a nice level of versatility in the HD Ready class.
This may be an HD Ready TV, but you won’t have much to complain about with the picture quality. The picture is very crisp with colors that are rich and vivid and it has good contrast range for depth and detail. Samsung equipped this model with the HyperReal picture enhancement engine and it has a color enhancer to really bring the images to life.
The sound quality is underwhelming to say the least. It has two 5W speakers and it does produce enough sound for all of your basic viewing needs. However, the quality of the sound is quite poor and it does not really have any punch to it. The TV is equipped with sound technology like Dolby Digital and DTS, but if you are going to get the benefit of these features, then you are going to need to connect an external sound system.
The UE32J4510 from Samsung does set itself apart from most of the competition in the HD Ready class when it comes to features. You get the built-in Freeview tuner for all of the basic channels, a USB port for playing content from an external drive and a full range of Smart TV features.
The Smart TV set up on this model is very easy to navigate and it really opens up a nice selection of additional entertainment options. With the Smart hub, you have access to things like TV catch-up, access to services like Amazon, Netflix and YouTube, plus connections to popular social media formats like Facebook and Twitter. One service that is notably missing though is the BBC iPlayer. It might be coming with a future software update, but at the time of writing, it is unavailable on this TV.
This TV offers a good number of connectivity options for users that want to hook up additional components. You have 2 HDMI ports for connecting DVD players and gaming systems, you have connections for component video, composite video, a digital optical output for a sound system, a headphone jack, a SCART socket and a USB plug. For internet connections, you have the option of connecting through Wi-Fi or through the Ethernet port on the TV.
